Massachusetts Body Art / Micropigmentation licensure is regulated by the Board of Health Department in each municipality and vary city to city, town to town. With the infux of interest in Permanent Makeup and Microblading, most of these governing authorities are now requiring a minimum of one to two years of Apprenticeship in Micropigmentation and/or one year Body Art Practitioner license. *
Although this may seem as a significant financial investment, it is the intention of Beauty and Ink Studios to provide an opportunity of operation for artists while developing their craft, establishing a portfolio, and building a brand of success, at a minimal cost. Requirements to obtain a Body Art Practitioner license for operations at Beauty and Ink Studios is feasible for ALL** Permanent Makeup artists and vary based on education and experience. We offer a Mentorship program for both Accomplished and Prospective Artists.
The Board of Cosmetology does not permit any services outside of their scope of practice to be performed in any of their designated and licensed areas. This requires two separate and distictive (by floor plan) areas, regulated individually by both The Board of Cosmetology and the Department of Public Health. Practitioners operating in our Mentorship Program may performs services of which they are dually licensed, within the tems of their contract, in our dually licensed facility.
Licensing Requirements
Licensing requirements for Body Art Practitioner at Beauty and Ink Studios entail; Enrollment at beauty and ink studios, training or mentorship program, Bloodbourne Pathogens training for Tattoo Artists (Red Cross) certificate, CPR/ !st aid certificate, Hepatitis B vaccination, and Birth Certificate.
